There are two main types of business energy tariffs; fixed rate and variable. Fixed-term agreements are usually cheaper in the long term, protect against wholesale electricity and gas price increases, and can be budgeted for by setting up a direct debit.
A variable rate contract benefits users if commercial electric and gas prices fall. Business energy is supplied on a contractual basis, with terms typically lasting between one and three years.

Business Comparison Customer Promotion – Prize Draw - Terms and Conditions

The Promoter of this prize draw is Business Comparison Ltd, whose registered office is at Steam Mill Business Centre, 1st Floor, Suites A, F and G, Steam Mill Street, Chester, Cheshire, CH3 5AN and whose registered number is 10257077 (“the Promoter”).

This prize draw is open to individuals aged 18 and over who take an energy contract via the Promoter’s website during the specified period starting from 22nd March 2024 until 23:59 on 7th April 2024.

The prize draw is not open to employees of the Promoter, their families, agents, or any third party directly associated with the administration of this prize draw.

To enter the Prize Draw, you must enter into and sign a contract with the Promoter’s third-party energy broker for its services. No other purchase is necessary.

Only one entry per person is permitted. Multiple submissions of the same survey or from the same person will not result in additional entries into the prize draw.

The Promoter accepts no responsibility for entries that are lost, delayed, misdirected or incomplete or cannot be delivered or entered into for any technical or other reason. Any other means of proof other than the signed contract itself does not constitute adequate proof of the completed contract with the Promoter.

The closing date for the Prize Draw is 7th April 2024. Entries received outside this time period will not be considered. The Prize Draw will be made on 17th April 2024.

One winner will be chosen from a random draw of entries received in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. The draw will be performed by a random computer process administered by the Promoter and under the supervision of an independent member of the Promoter’s staff.

The winner will receive the prize outlined on the Promoter’s website.

The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any costs associated with the prize and not specifically included in the prize.

The winner will be notified by email on the day of the drawing. If a winner does not respond to the Promoter within 14 days of being notified, then the winner’s prize will be forfeited, and the Promoter shall be entitled to select another winner in accordance with the process described above. If a winner rejects their prize or the entry is invalid or in breach of these Terms and Conditions, the winner’s prize will be forfeited, and the Promoter shall be entitled to select another winner.

The prize will be sent to the winner via e-mail within 10 days of the winner responding to the Promoter’s email informing them they have been successful.

The prize is non-exchangeable, non-transferable and no cash alternative is offered.

The Promoter reserves the right to replace the prize with an alternative prize of equal or higher value if circumstances beyond the Promoter’s control make it necessary to do so.

The Promoter shall use and take care of any personal data you supply to it as described in its Privacy Policy, and in accordance with data protection legislation. By entering the Prize Draw, you agree to the collection, retention, usage, and distribution of your personal information in order to process and contact you about your Prize Draw entry.

The Promoter and its associated agencies and companies accepts no responsibility for any damage, loss, liabilities, injury or disappointment incurred or suffered by you as a result of entering this Prize Draw or accepting the prize, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law (including personal injury, death and fraud) in which case that liability is limited to the minimum amount allowable by law.

The prize winner's name may be made available on the Promoter’s website if the prize winner consents to this.

If for any reason any aspect of this promotion is not capable of running as planned, including by reason of infection by computer virus, network failure, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any cause beyond the control of the Promoter which corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this promotion, the Promoter may in its sole discretion cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the promotion or invalidate any affected entries, where required.

Participants in the draw are deemed to have accepted and agreed to be bound by these terms and conditions upon entry. The Promoter reserves the right to refuse entry or refuse to award the prize to anyone in breach of these terms and conditions.

By agreeing to participate in this promotion, you agree that your results from this promotion might be used for the purpose of sending you marketing materials by the Promoter and/or its group companies[1] in the future.

These terms and conditions shall be governed by English law and the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes arising in respect of these terms and conditions.
