Here at Businesscomparison.com we’ve teamed up with local muralist Karl Hewitt to add a personal touch to our new company office space and we’re delighted with the results!
We’ve moved to larger premises in the historic Steam Mill which is a landmark listed building in the centre of Chester, after growing our user base to 30,000 visitors a month.
In keeping with the style of a modern digital business, there has been a complete refurbishment to include a living wall, library room and a bespoke graffiti wall. Staff have a gaming area to unwind in at the end of the day and there are informal spaces to discuss and develop ideas.
Karl who is 31 and based in Sandycroft, Flintshire started his mural business in May 2016. Since then he has been painting everything from children’s bedrooms to coffee shops and nurseries. Karl has built an impressive following on his Facebook page “Noo Designs Murals” that attracts fans from as far afield as America to the Philippines. Karl started being creative from an early age with a pencil and paper by drawing what he saw but turning modern life into a cartoon. It wasn’t until 2012 that he actually produced his first ever painting. Once Karl got the hang of painting he decided to put out some local adverts on Facebook and became self-employed in May 2016 as he couldn’t balance his daily job with something he loved doing. Despite not being successful in school in his art exams, Karl kept on drawing and creating and he still says he is learning new things with every new picture he creates.
Since launching in 2015, Businesscomparison.com has expanded steadily to eight staff and won five industry awards including SME Website of the Year and Cheshire Start-up of the year.
We aim to have helped 50 per cent of SMEs in the UK in the first five years – that’s over 2.6 million users. Last year two channel managers were appointed to enable us to offer financial, energy and insurance solutions to even more businesses.
Head of Businesscomparison.com, Philip Brennan comments,
“The team have worked hard to build and develop a business that we’re all really proud of. The move to larger premises represents the growth of the company and we’re excited to fill the extra space with more staff over the coming years as we look to expand and offer even more products to business customers.
“We launched Businessnesscomparison.com just over two years ago, as an online comparison tool for business owners to find the best deals on products and services that are essential to their daily running and success. As a growing company, we know the financial pressures on SMEs up and down the country and tailor our website to make life easier for them at a time when there is uncertainty in the business community.
“Careful planning has gone into the design of the new office space that allows us to nurture partnerships and create new business opportunities. We’re proud of our heritage in Chester and the look and feel of the new space has been designed with our brand in mind. We’re very excited about the future.”
