We are a credit broker and insurance intermediary authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (“FCA”), and we are entered on the Financial Services Register under reference number: 923755. We are licenced by the Information Commissioners Office under registration number ZA213954.

2. Your acceptance of these Terms and conditions

By visiting our website and using this service, you are accepting our terms and conditions, privacy policy and cookie policy and agree to abide by them.

If you do not agree to these terms and conditions, you should stop using and/or accessing our website immediately. If you breach any of these terms, your right to access and use our website will cease immediately.

We acknowledge our obligations to this agreement by performing the service you have requested. In doing so, we are the service provider and you are our customer.

We deal directly with you and have no obligation to any party other than you, our customer.

If you are accessing our service on behalf of someone else, our obligation is still with you, the customer. As our customer, the terms and conditions of this agreement apply to you, not with any other parties or agents that may be connected to you.

We reserve the right to amend these terms and conditions from time to time by amending this page. The amended terms and conditions will be effective from the date they are posted on our website.

4. The BusinessComparison Service

We provide an online service that enables you to search for a range of insurance, financial and energy products and services provided by our panel of financial services firms (“Our Partners”).

We do not charge you a fee for using the BusinessComparison service, but we do receive commission from Our Partners if they are able to provide you with the particular product or service you were looking for.

Whether Our Partners are able to provide you with the product or service you are looking for, is their responsibility and will depend on factors such as the information you have provided, and an assessment of your eligibility and credit worthiness by taking into account your credit history.

It is therefore important that you make sure the information you provide is complete and accurate as this will be used to determine whether or not we are able to match you with the product or service you are searching for.

5. Your use of our Website

You must only use the BusinessComparison.com website for your personal use, or if you are a business user, for your own legitimate business purposes of searching for a product or service from Our Partners.

You must not use the BusinessComparison.com website in an unlawful or fraudulent manner and must be a UK resident, over 18 years old.

If you are using our website on behalf of another person, you are responsible for ensuring that they understand and agree to these terms and conditions. When you provide their information, you are confirming to us that you have their permission to do this.

6. Communication from or on behalf of BusinessComparison

We may contact you by telephone, SMS, email and post about our other products and services unless you have told us that you do not want to be contacted in this way. (Please read our privacy policy for more information).

By using our service to find a financial service or product, you will be contacted by one of Our Partners by telephone, SMS, email, fax and/ post in order to provide you with that particular financial service or product.

7. Credit checks and References

We do not carry out credit checks on you when you use our website to find a financial product or service.

However, Our Partners may use external credit reference agencies and credit scoring services to ascertain whether you are eligible for a particular product or service and that you meet their eligibility criteria.

Credit checks and credit reference agencies can also help prevent fraudulent applications. When you make an application, you agree to Our Partners using your personal information to prevent fraud and to verify your identity. This data may be used by a Credit Reference Agency or Fraud Agency and these agencies may keep a record of your information.

You are responsible for ensuring that the information you provide is true and accurate. Misleading information will be regarded as a breach of our terms and is likely to breach any agreement you enter into with Our Partners. Furthermore, misleading information may also result in the instigation of criminal procedures against you.

8. Intellectual Property Rights

We are the owner or the licensee of all intellectual property rights in our website, and in the material published on it. Those works are protected by copyright laws and treaties around the world. All such rights are reserved.

13. Viruses, Hacking and other Offences

You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales in connection with these terms and conditions and your access to and use of our website.
