How did the idea for the business come about?

I was an illustration graduate in need of work, and found myself taking up tree surgery… all it took was seeing somebody carving with a chainsaw!

When was the company first established?

I became a sole trader in 2005, and turned it to a LTD company in 2008.

How is the business doing?

It has its ups and downs. On the whole, business is good and there are exciting things on the horizon.

Since the company began, what has been the biggest challenge?

The biggest challenge was the decision to take on our first full time employee. (That turned out to be a very good decision!)

What makes you stand out from your competitors?

The quality of my work.

What’s been your best business decision?

Deciding to take on a full time employee and consciously grow the business.

What is next for the business?

An expansion into other areas of joinery and property maintenance.

If you could help one business now with a single piece of advice, what would it be?

Don’t try to do everything on your own!

Finally, what is your favourite biscuit?

Does a Jaffa Cake count as a biscuit?!
