Was there a breakthrough moment?
There have been a few. I’ll always remember raising my first invoice and receiving my first cheque as it made me believe it really was possible. I’ll also never forget the 2008 financial crisis / credit crunch as nearly all my customers cut recruitment and made redundancies instead forcing me to explore new markets.
How is the company doing?
Good. We have some excellent relationships with customers who come back to us repeatedly and I have a brilliant team around me. Most importantly I still love my work.
Do you have any regrets?
Not doing it sooner.
What makes you stand out from your competitors?
We put the organisational culture of our clients front and centre of every search we undertake for them. Yes, skills and experience are obviously important, but matching attitude and personality of an individual to the culture of an organisation means the relationship between them will be more fruitful and last longer.

What is your definition of a positive customer experience?
When a customer believes the supplier has delivered on their promise, or even better, over exceeded their expectation. Manners, courtesy, empathy and smiling also plays a big part.
What advice would you give yourself now if you were starting a business?
Spend at least 90 minutes every day marketing your business. Get clear on why you are doing it. Build a team of people that believe in the same things as you and passionately care about your mission
