Entrepreneurs from firms offering events and services ranging from a family pet show to a mosque app have pitched their investment plans to Head of, Philip Brennan, at a major regional business exhibition.

Philip was one of a panel of experts which included VCs, business angels, advisors and fund managers who offered commercial insight and funding recommendations to the fledgling businesses at the ProlificNorthLive event at the Emirates Old Trafford.

Other panellists included Investment Director at Enterprise Ventures Paul Taberner as well as David Smith and Rupert Wingate-Saul from AXM Venture Capital Ltd.

The ambitious start-ups made ‘elevator-style’ pitches to the panel in a bid to raise awareness of their need for investment of over £100,000 for their development and growth.

Head of, Philip Brennan, said the pitches were a great way of entrepreneurs getting feedback on their future plans,

“Small businesses are the lifeblood of our economy so it was fantastic to be in a position to hear about their plans and give feedback and funding advice. The companies pitching were diverse and included a car wash run by ex-service personnel, an app called My Mosque and a family pet show. At we champion entrepreneurship so I was delighted to be able to able to provide a sounding board for their innovative ideas. I wish them all the best of luck in the future.”

There were more than 2,000 attendees, 100 exhibitors and 60 company presentations at the event specifically for North West companies.
