Black Friday is the one time of year when business broadband providers openly compete on price. That makes it a sensible moment to switch. It also makes it an easy moment to sign a 36-month contract based on a headline figure that leaves out VAT, setup fees, and the price rises written into your terms.
Business deals don't work like the home broadband offers you'll see advertised everywhere in November. Prices are shown without VAT, contracts often run longer, and the discount usually covers only part of the term. This guide explains how business Black Friday deals work, shows what the main providers offered in previous years, and uses those real offers to show what a "half price" deal is worth over a full contract.
What You Need To Know About Black Friday Business Broadband
Black Friday 2026 is Friday 27 November, and Cyber Monday is 30 November. Business offers have historically run anywhere from 4 days to 4 weeks around those dates.
Business prices are shown ex VAT. If your business isn't VAT-registered, add 20% to every price you see.
The discount rarely covers the whole contract. Virgin Media Business's 2025 offer was 8 months half price on a 24-month contract. That worked out to 16.7% off the total, not 50%.
Price rises still apply. Most major providers add a fixed amount every April, and on a 36-month contract that can add more than 20% to the headline price.
Black Friday isn't always the cheapest time to buy. Virgin Media Business ran a 25% off offer in January 2026, and BT Business's pre-Black Friday sale already offers up to 50% off selected plans until 15 November 2026.
The PSTN switch-off on 31 January 2027 matters more than the discount. If your business still uses an analogue line, Black Friday is your last major sale before the old network closes.
When Do Business Broadband Deals Start?
Black Friday 2026 falls on Friday 27 November 2026, with Cyber Monday on Monday 30 November 2026. Business broadband offers rarely line up neatly with those dates, though. Based on what providers ran in previous years, expect deals to appear from early November and some to run into December.
Provider | Most recent window | Length |
|---|---|---|
Virgin Media Business | 12 November to 8 December 2025 | 27 days |
BT Business | 18 to 29 November 2024 | 12 days |
Vodafone Business | 27 to 30 November 2026 (announced) | 4 days |
In practice, that means you don't need to wait until the Friday itself. If your current contract ends in November or December, start comparing in early November. That way you can act on whichever offer appears first without rushing.

What Did Providers Offer Last Black Friday?
Past offers are the best guide to what's likely this year. Here's what we could confirm from providers' own terms and announcements.
Year | Provider | Offer | Contract |
|---|---|---|---|
2025 | Virgin Media Business | 50% off for 8 months on Voom 200 to Voom Gig1 | 24 months |
2025 | Vodafone Business | Black Friday business broadband offers ran | Not published |
2024 | BT Business | 6 months half price on selected Standard Fibre and Full Fibre plans | 24 months |
2023 | Virgin Media Business | 6 months half price on Voom 400 to Voom Gig1 | 24 months |
2022 | Virgin Media Business | 6 months half price plus free installation (usually £50) | 24 months |
2021 | Sky Business | Superfast broadband with 4G backup at £27.50 a month for 6 months | 24 or 36 months |
The pattern is consistent: a percentage off for a limited number of months, on a contract of 24 months or longer. Virgin Media Business stretched its discount from 6 months to 8 months in 2025. It's worth watching whether that holds in 2026.
How Are Business Broadband Deals Different From Home Deals?
Business Black Friday deals look similar to home broadband offers, but four differences change what you'll pay.
Business Prices Are Shown Ex VAT
Business providers publish prices without the 20% VAT. If your business is VAT-registered, you can usually reclaim that VAT, so the ex VAT price is your real cost. If you're not VAT-registered (for example, a sole trader with taxable turnover under the £90,000 VAT registration threshold), you pay the VAT and can't get it back.
Price excluding VAT | Price including VAT |
|---|---|
£22.00 a month | £26.40 a month |
£29.95 a month | £35.94 a month |
£35.00 a month | £42.00 a month |
£54.95 a month | £65.94 a month |
It's worth doing this conversion before you compare a business deal with a home broadband deal, since home prices already include VAT.
Setup and Installation Fees
A deal advertised as "£0 upfront" sometimes means the provider has waived a fee for the sale period only. These are the standard charges we found in October 2026:
Provider | Standard charges | What the offer does |
|---|---|---|
BT Business | £39.95 connection fee, £12.95 hub postage | Reduced to £0 and £5.95 until 15 November 2026 |
Sky Business | £24.95 postage, packaging and activation | Waived ("pay nothing upfront") |
Virgin Media Business | Installation from £75 per site; excess construction charges may apply | Varies by offer |
Vodafone Business | £0 upfront advertised | Up to £300 credit towards exit fees from your old provider |
Contract Lengths
Home broadband deals usually run for 18 or 24 months. Business deals often run for 36 months, and the best headline prices are frequently tied to the longest term. BT's current sale and Vodafone's headline £22 price both require a 36-month contract.
Ofcom's rules cap contracts at 24 months for small businesses with 10 or fewer employees or volunteers, unless the business expressly agrees otherwise. In practice, that means you'll be asked to sign a waiver to take a 36-month deal. Vodafone's waiver page explains the protections small businesses can give up, including the 24-month limit.
Mid-Contract Price Rises
Since January 2025, Ofcom has banned inflation-linked and percentage-based price rises in new contracts for consumers and small businesses. Providers can still raise prices, but they have to tell you the increase in pounds and pence when you sign up.
Provider | Mid-contract price rise | When |
|---|---|---|
BT Business | +£4 a month on bundles, +£3 on broadband-only | Every 1 April |
Vodafone Business | +£2.93 a month | Every 1 April during the minimum term |
Virgin Media Business | +£3.50 a month | 1 April 2027, and again on 1 April 2028 for 36-month contracts |
Sky Business | No rise in 2026; prices may increase from 1 January 2027 | From 2027 |
Zen | No in-contract price rises | Not applicable |
Is Black Friday the Cheapest Time To Buy Business Broadband?
Not reliably. Black Friday tends to bring the biggest headline discounts of the year, but strong offers appear at other times too.
Retail evidence is sobering. Which? found that 94% of the products it analysed from Black Friday 2024 were the same price or cheaper at other times of the year (Which?, November 2025). That research covered tech and home products, not broadband, but the lesson carries over: compare against the price you could get anyway.
Business broadband offers run all year. Virgin Media Business ran 25% off for 12 months in January 2026. Vodafone Business ran 12 months half price on selected fibre plans earlier in 2026 (Yorkshire Post). BT Business is running up to 50% off selected plans until 15 November 2026, before Black Friday has even started.
Standard prices can be flat for years. BT's standard price for Full Fibre 500 Essential with a digital line was £54.95 ex VAT in its November 2024 Black Friday terms, and it was still £54.95 in its October 2026 pricing terms.
The honest answer is that Black Friday is a good time to buy if your contract is ending anyway. It's rarely worth leaving a contract early unless the provider will cover your exit fees.
Why Does Timing Matter More in 2026?
The old analogue phone network, the PSTN, closes permanently on 31 January 2027. Black Friday 2026 falls just 65 days before that date.
As of 31 July 2026, Openreach said around 1.5 million UK lines were still on legacy copper, including roughly 350,000 business premises (ISPreview, July 2026). Openreach also raised its wholesale line rental price by 20% in April 2026 and 40% in July 2026, with a further 40% rise due in October 2026. Those costs tend to filter through to anyone still on an old line.
What this means for your Black Friday decision:
If you still use an analogue line, a Black Friday deal that includes a digital phone line solves two problems at once. Check that your alarms, card machines, franking machines and lift lines work over a digital line first.
Engineer slots will get tighter. Openreach has warned that waiting too long could make it harder to get engineering support before the deadline. BT says activation usually takes around 14 working days, and switching provider takes at least 10 working days.
Most providers no longer sell analogue lines. BT and Vodafone both state they've stopped selling traditional phone lines to business customers.
Should Your Business Sign up for a Black Friday Deal?
Your situation | Should you buy? | Why it works | Limitations |
|---|---|---|---|
Contract ends between November and February | Yes, it's a good time to compare | You can switch without exit fees and catch the year's biggest offers | Offers may beat or be beaten by January sales |
Still on an analogue line | Yes, prioritise switching | Combines a discount with your PSTN migration | Engineer availability may be tight before 31 January 2027 |
In contract for another 6 months or more | Usually not | Exit fees often wipe out the discount | Worth it only if a provider covers your exit fees |
Not VAT-registered sole trader | Compare carefully | A good business deal can still beat home broadband | Add 20% to every business price before comparing |
Need resilience (4G backup, static IP, fast fault fixes) | Yes, if the deal includes them | Sale prices on higher tiers can make premium features affordable | Check which tier the discount applies to |
Fixed costs matter more than the lowest price | Look at providers without mid-contract rises | Predictable monthly cost | Starting prices may be higher |
Are There Business Broadband Christmas Deals?
Yes, often. Black Friday business offers frequently run into December: Virgin Media Business's 2025 offer ended on 8 December. January sales also appear, as Virgin Media Business showed with its 25% off offer from 5 January to 2 February 2026.
In practice, Christmas itself is a bad time to install. Offices close, engineer visits are harder to book, and any switching problem can take longer to fix. If you want a Christmas deal, order in early December and book the installation for a date when someone will be on site.
Black Friday Business Broadband FAQs
What was the best Black Friday business broadband deal in 2025?
Virgin Media Business's 2025 offer of 50% off for 8 months on Voom fibre (24-month contract) was the most generous business offer we could confirm. On Voom 400, it saved £140 over the contract.
Are business broadband prices shown with or without VAT?
Without VAT. Business broadband providers publish prices ex VAT, so add 20% if your business isn't VAT-registered.
Is Black Friday the best time to switch business broadband?
Only if your contract is ending. Strong offers also appear in January and in pre-Black Friday sales, and an exit fee can easily cancel out a Black Friday discount.
Can I get a Black Friday deal if I'm an existing customer?
Usually not. Most business Black Friday offers are for new customers only, including BT's 2024 offer. Existing customers can still ask their provider to match a deal when their contract ends.
How long are Black Friday business broadband contracts?
Usually 24 or 36 months. The lowest headline prices are often tied to 36-month contracts, which small businesses with 10 or fewer staff must actively agree to.
Will my business broadband price go up mid-contract?
Probably, but by a fixed amount. Since 17 January 2025, Ofcom has required providers to state mid-contract rises in pounds and pence for small business contracts. BT adds £3 to £4 a month each April, Vodafone £2.93 and Virgin Media Business £3.50.
Can I use a home broadband Black Friday deal for my business?
You can, but it's not always the best choice. Home deals include VAT in the price and rarely include business features such as a static IP address, faster fault fixes or 4G backup. Some home broadband terms also restrict business use. Our guide to home broadband vs business broadband covers the differences.
Are setup fees waived on Black Friday?
Sometimes. Offers often reduce or waive upfront charges: BT's current sale cuts its £39.95 connection fee to £0, and Sky Business is waiving its £24.95 setup charge. Always check the order summary before you confirm.
Is business broadband tax-deductible?
Generally, yes, when it's used for your business. Self-employed people working from home may need to split costs between business and personal use. Check the GOV.UK guidance on expenses if you're self-employed or ask your accountant.
What should I do if I still have an analogue phone line?
Switch to a digital line before 31 January 2027, when the PSTN closes. A Black Friday broadband deal that includes a digital phone line is a sensible way to do it, as long as you've checked that your other equipment works over a digital line.
Our Conclusion
Black Friday is a good time to buy business broadband if your contract is ending, but it's not the only good time, and the headline discount is never the whole story.
If your contract ends between November and February, compare Black Friday offers on total contract cost, including VAT if you can't reclaim it and every April price rise.
If you're still on an analogue line, use Black Friday to move to a digital service before 31 January 2027.
If you're mid-contract, wait, unless a provider will cover your exit fees.
If budget certainty matters most, look at providers with no mid-contract price rises, even if the starting price is higher.
